The Process – Drive a Little, Save a Lot
Getting a beautiful custom closet system or other storage and organization cabinetry from 360 Custom Closets & Cabinetry is a simple process.
Call us at 510-265-1501 to make an appointment to meet one of our designers at our design center. We have daytime, evening, and Saturday appointments available for your convenience. Our design center is located at 20973 Cabot Blvd., Hayward, CA 94545. A map is located here.
In preparation for your appointment, measure your space and note the following dimensions: width of space, depth of the space, and height of the ceiling. To help you note the dimensions, we have some forms you can printout and use. We have one for reach in closets and one for walk in closets. Please make note of any obstacles or special conditions in the closet such as access openings for the attic or under the house, light switches or any other items mounted to the walls. Also note the height of the base board and it’s thickness. Be as accurate as you can, but don’t worry, we will confirm all of these dimensions ourselves prior to installation.
It is also very helpful to take some pictures of the space. Either bring your camera with you to your appointment or e-mail the photos to photos@360closets.com before you arrive. This will help the designer get an idea of the space and notice any areas of concern that you might have missed.
At your appointment, the designer will enter the dimensions into our state of the art computer aided closet design software. Together you will go over the existing layout of your closet and design the new custom closet system based upon your needs and space. Our design center has demonstration closets so you can actually see the different components of the closet systems in the various colors and wood grains that we offer. You will also see the different grades of hardware available and popular accessories.
Once the design is completed we will price the closet system per the design and materials chosen. Upon approval of the design and the pricing, we will schedule a date to install the closet system or have it available for self-installation. Subject to certain restrictions, most of our closet systems can be installed in 7 days. (Click here for more information on our 7 Day Closets.)
Prior to the installation, one of our installation specialists will go to your home to confirm the dimensions you provided and to determine if there are any minor changes that need to be made to the design based on the existing space.
If you choose to have us install your closets, on the date of the installation your closet will be picked up at our shop and delivered to your home. Our professional and experienced installer will remove your old existing closet system and install the new system. You will need to remove all of your clothing and other items prior to the date and time of installation. They will clean up the area and show you the different features of your closet before they leave.
If you are installing the closet yourself, we will have the components and pieces ready on the date and time agreed. All of the component pieces will be numbered. We will provide you with a set of drawings with all of the component pieces numbered. Once you get your component pieces home, it is simply a matter of placing the numbered components in the right location following the drawings. If you have never installed a custom closet before, we highly recommend attending on of our FREE DIY closet classes. Click here for more information of our classes.
By driving a little, you can save a lot. Because all of the design work is done in our design center, we save money on travel and other costs associated with going to your home. We pass those savings on to you.
